A key design goal was to balance the design both in its size and shape by providing general overall symmetry with asymmetry articulation.

The arched entry signals prominence without being grand. The upper level is differentiated from the lower level by contrasting white and black eave and trim paint color.

Large living room windows face the backyard. Below these windows is a large lightwell that serves as egress for two bedrooms and natural light to the basement family room.

The living room and kitchen share one room with the ceiling changing to create two spaces. Behind the kitchen is a Chef’s Pantry equipped with a fridge, prep sink, dry storage, small appliance storage, and counter space. The pantry is design as secondary kitchen to be used as a coffee station, and ideal for pasta making, a slow cooker, and caterer staging area.

The kitchen island is designed to feel like furniture, and to serve as a transition piece from the living room area to the kitchen area. The wood finish provides a foreground to the white cabinetry background.

The centrally located kitchen island provides a panoramic view of the living, dining and outdoor covered patio rooms, and serves as a juncture between these various rooms.
